SHERMAN, Texas – Hendrix College’s women shot just 22 percent from the field Tuesday in a 46-39 loss to Austin College.
Austin (5-7) took a 29-21 lead into halftime, but Hendrix (0-10) opened the second period on an 8-0 run, capped by a 3-pointer from freshman guard Caitlin Kriesel-Bigler to tie the game 29-29 with 13:56 remaining. The ‘Roos led 36-33 with 6:17 left and followed with a 10-1 run over the next four minutes to put the game out of reach.
Junior center Jamie Tate led Hendrix with 13 points and 16 rebounds for her third consecutive double-double. Kriesel-Bigler added 12 points and six assists.
Hendrix will be off until Dec. 29 when it takes on LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas.
