DANVILLE, Ky. – The Hendrix College men’s basketball team had its season end with a 71-59 loss to Birmingham-Southern College in the first round of the Southern Athletic Association Tournament on Friday night.
The sixth-seeded Warriors finish with an 8-18 overall record, while the No. 3 Panthers improve to 19-7 and advance to the semifinals.
BSC led the entire first half and took a 29-23 lead into the break. They expanded the lead to as many as 16 in the second half. Hendrix cut the deficit to seven on a Colton Primm tip-in that made the game 53-46 with 6:24 to play. The Panthers answered with a 7-0 run to take back control of the game.
Hendrix senior Jaren Riley ended his career with 13 points. Primm had 12 points and 10 rebounds and sophomore forward Luke Vance scored 11 points and grabbed seven boards. Sophomore guard Andy Gram added eight points, five rebounds and two assists.
Along with Riley, the game was the final in the career of senior center Dayton Sheridan.
