The University of Central Arkansas Bears were very offensive in three victories in the UCA Invitational softball tournament Saturday.

The Bears defeated Northern Iowa, Grambling State and Arkansas-Pine Bluff by a combined 44-4, compiling 38 hits and hurling a no-hitter in the process.

UCA had 12 hits in a 16-2 victory over Northern Iowa, the team they rallied to defeat 4-3 in eight innings in the late game the night before. Melissa Bryant, Sarah Bigej and Amy Gunnells each had two hits. Bigej had four RBI and a home run. Taylor Barclay was the winning pitcher. Greenbrier's Cicely New struck out two and allowed two hits in two innings.

Kelsie Armstrong struck out 12 in a no-hitter in an 8-0 win over Grambling. Melanie Bryant and Jessie Taylor had home runs. Sam Forrest and Melissa Bryant had two hits.

In a 20-2 romp over UAPB, in which the Bears had 18 hits, Taylor was three for four with five RBI. Bigej was four for four with five RBI and two triples. Boswell had a home run. Sam Forrest, Melissa Bryant, Gunnells and Stephanie Lasley all had two hits. Ciera Clampitt allowed three hits and struck out five in three innings in gaining the win.

The Bears close the tournament Sunday with a game against Ball State.
