SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Hendrix College men's soccer team picked blanked Sewanee - The University of the South, 3-0, in road Southern Athletic Association action on Friday afternoon.



The win was the second consecutive shutout for the Warriors (5-8-3, 1-4) with sophomore keeper Marco Luna, who broke the program career shutout record on Monday, registered the 11th blanking of his tenure with a career-high 12 saves.




Sophomore midfielder Jacob Pierce put Hendrix on the board in the 15th minute with his team-leading eighth goal of the year. Freshman defender Spencer Holt recorded the assist. Sophomore forward Will Dunaway found the net on a pass from sophomore defender John McGrath in the 63rd minute to put the Warriors up 2-0. Dunaway struck again in the 85th minute with his second goal of the game.


In women's play, the host Tigers (10-3-1, 3-2) outshot the Warriors (6-6-3, 1-3-1) 25-8 overall and 15-6 on goal to win 3-2 in overtime.

 Hendrix sophomore Samantha Lallas tied the game in the 71st minute with her team-leading ninth goal of the year. A 1:15 later, sophomore forward Syndey King put the Warriors up 2-1.



Nikki Johnson tied the game on a Shelby Meckstroth assist in the 84th minute. White scored the game winner 5:38 into the second overtime.



Warrior sophomore keeper Rachel Zweig tied her career-high with 12 saves on Friday. Olivia Glascoe recorded two saves for the Tigers.


Hendrix will travel to Danville, Ky., for a conference games against Centre College on Sunday.
