The University of Central Arkansas’ Courtney Duever has been named to the first team of the All Southland Conference Preseason Women’s Basketball Team.

Five of the 11 players represented on the preseason teams were named all-conference following the 2012-13 season. Porsha Roberts was tabbed second-team all-conference while Nicholls guard KK Babin, Central Arkansas center Courtney Duever, Southeastern Louisiana forward Aja Gibson and Northwestern State guard Janelle Perez each earned third-team all-conference honors last year.

Last season Duever was the second-leading rebounder (8.8) and scorer (13.6) for the Sugar Bears, which also ranked third and 10th, respectively, in the Southland. The senior from Austin, Texas, will look to lead a young UCA team this season that lost four starters and 10 lette-rwinners and welcomes 10 newcomers to the program.
