ROGERS — Conway High’s boys opened the basketball season Thursday night with a 39-34 victory over Rogers.

Colt Fason led the Wampus Cats with 14 points, and Micah Delph had 10.


Little Rock Christian took a 61-48 victory over Conway Christian on Friday in the consolation round of the Wendy’s Invitational at Little Rock.

The Lady Eagles (0-2), debuting in the tournament under new coach Jeremy Carson, trailed 31-30 at the half and were led by 16 points from Kelly Hays and 15 from Christina DenHartog. Alexi Dather added 11.

Tuesday, Little Rock Parkview sent the Lady Eagles into the consolation bracket with a 67-37 victory. DenHartog had 20 points and Hays nine for the Lady Eagles.


St. Joseph teams reached the semifinals of the Atkins junior tournament with different results.

The Bulldogs (7-0) defeated Pottsville 47-23. Leading the scoring were: Dylan Schrekenhofer with 14 points. Drake Cooper had eight points and seven rebounds. Landon Enderlin, Taylor Schrekenhofer and Cole Schaefers all had six points. Enderlin had six assists and six steals. Nash Nichols added five rebounds, three steals and three assists. Scahefers had four rebounds. Braden Brorman had three steals.

Lamar defeat the Lady Bulldogs (3-1) in the semifinals, 32-28. Anna Mayor had 11 points and eight rebounds. Meagan and Rachel Briggler had five pooints. Rachel Briggler had five assists. Madison Seiter had four points and nine rebounds.

The Bulldogs reached the semifinals with a 23-20 victory over Atkins. Highlights were: Cooper, nine pooints, eight rebounds. Taylor Schrekenhofer and William Fields, seven points. Dylan Schrekenhofer, four points. Schaefers, five rebounds. Endeerlin, six assists and two steals. Nichols, four assists and four steals.

The Lady Bulldogs reached the semifinals with a 26-19 victory over Dover. Rachel Briggler had 10 points and three steals. Anna Mayor had seven points and eight rebounds. Madison Seiter had four points and eight rebounds.


Conway Blue claimed the ninth-grade girls championship of the Bryant Invitational with a 40-25 victory over Pulaski Academy.

The Lady Cats are 4-0.

The Blue team plays Monday at Mount St. Mary.




reenbrier’s junior high girls defeated Atkins 34-24 Thursday night to advance to the finals of the Atkins tournament. 

The Lady Panthers were led by Sydney Smith, who was six of eight from the field, with 16 points, four rebounds and a steal. Allie Pack added 11 points and nine rebounds. Courtney Edwards added four points and five steals. Autumn Russell had four rebounds and two points. The Lady Panthers (2-1) wil play Lamar in the finals at 5:45 p.m. Saturday.


Russellville East defeated Greenbrier boys seventh-grade basketball teams twice Thursday.

Russellville won the A boys game 39-14. 

Scoring for the Panthers were: Denton King, 5; Tyler WIlliams, 3; Cody McNight and Travis Chapman, 2, and Jacob May, 1 each.

Russellville won the B game, 12-8.
