Conway High’s Hailey Estes scored four points in two seconds Thursday in helping the Lady Cats pull off an incredible comeback in Texas.
In the Sandra Meadows Classic at Duncanville, Texas, Conway trailed McKinney North of Texas by three with two seconds left. Estes, a sophomore, went to the line with a double bonus. She made the first and missed the second. In the scramble for the rebound, the ball went out of bounds off McKinney.
Estes hit a layup off the inbounds play and was fouled with .31 seconds left. She made the free throw to secure the 54-53 victory for Conway, its second of the day. The Lady Cats upped their record to 8-0.
Alexis Tolefree led Conway with 14 points. Jordan Danberry added 13 and Asia Willard 10. Allie Pack had eight points and 10 rebounds.
Earlier Thursday, Conway defeated Mesquite Horn 47-27.
Tolefree led with 24 points.
