Greenbrier opened its high school volleyball season this week by splitting games against Beebe and Sylvan Hills.

Beebe downed the Lady Panthers, 22-25, 25-16, 25-27, 25-16, 13-15 in a hard-fought, three-set match.

Haleigh Barnard led Greenbrier with 30 of 32 serves, seven aces, 10 kills and three blocks. Other service leaders were Kari Gipson, Brittany Merritt and Hannah Porter. Merritt had 29 assists. Porter added 26 assists and had 13 kills. Samantha Tillman had 18 kills and three blocks.

Greenbrier won the junior varsity match, 25-21, 25-11. Lexi Livingston had thee kills and Savannah McNabb was 17 of 17 on serves.

The Lady Panthers defeated Sylvan Hills, 25-13, 25-10, 25-16. Barnard had seven kills and four blocks. Gipson also had seven kills while Tillman added 11. Marissa Hollenbaugh and Porter were perfect on serves.

Greenbrier won the JV game, 23-25, 26-24, 15-11. Hayley Heacox had four digs and Haley Hilliard and MacKenzie Neumeier had six kills each. Levingston had 12 assists.
