Conway (2-1) at Cabot (1-2)

Time: 7 p.m.

Place: Panther Stadium, Cabot

Notable: It’s the 7A/6A Central opener for both teams. Cabot and Russellville are the only two teams in the conference that do not have 2-1 records entering conference play. The Panthers, traditionally one of the favorites, are reeling, having lost to Pulaski Academy and Springdale Har-Ber by a combined score of 113-54.

Greenbrier (3-0) at Harrison (1-2)

Time: 7 p.m.

Place: Harrison

Notable: The Panthers have established themselves as early title contenders in 5A-West as the teams open conference play. Greenbrier is one of three teams (Greenwood and Siloam Springs are the others) that open conference play at 3-0. The Golden Goblins face a challenge against the high-powered Greenbrier offense as they have been outscored 77-14 the last two weeks.

Vilonia (1-2) at Huntsville (1-2)

Time: 7 p.m.

Place: Huntsville

Notable: It’s a pivotal situation for the Eagles, who have lost two games in a row after opening the season with a victory over Sylvan Hills. It’s the fourth road game among four straight road games to open the season for Vilonia.

Riverview (0-3) at Mayflower (2-1)

Time: 7 p.m.

Place: Patrick Stadium, Mayflower

Notable: Even though it’s the conference opener, it’s a critical game for the Eagles if they are to be one of the 2-3A contenders as Riverview is projected to be one of the weaker teams in the league. The Eagles will try to rebound after two straight tough games at Greenbrier and Glen Rose.

Conway Christian (1-2) at Two Rivers (2-1)

Time: 7 p.m.

Place: Ola

Notable: It’s a big conference road game for Conway Christian, who got a boost last week with a dominating victory over Class 3A Cutter Morning Star. Two Rivers is 1-0 in conference while the Eagles are 0-1. Another conference loss this early would be devastating to CCS.
