JACKSONVILLE -- Conway's Ethan King survived a tight, hot day of match play Wednesday to gain the finals of the Arkansas State Golf Association's Junior Match Play Championship against Nick Zimmerman of North Little Rock.

King and Zimmerman are scheduled to tee off at 8:30 a.m. today at Foxwood Country Club.

In a quarterfinal match Wednesday, King defeated Rowdy Garrett of Fouke, 1-up, then downed Lane Hulse of Fordyce, 2 and 1, in the semifinals. In his opening match, he defeated Peyton Fogleman of Marion, 8 and 7, then downed Evan Greewood of Hot Springs in 20 holes. He defated Andrew Fiesher of Little Rock, 2 and 1, Tuessday to gain the quarterfinals.

Tim Netherton of Conway pulled three upsets to reach the quarterfinals against Nick Zimmerman on the opposite side of the bracket. Netheron downed Tyler Green of Alexander, 4 and 2, Richard Zimmerman of Mountain Home, 2 and 1; and Steve Swaffar of Sherwood, 2 and 1. In Wednesday's quarterfinal, he lost to Zimmerman, 4 and 3.
