Carol Jean DeBusk

Carol Jean DeBusk, age 83, of Clinton, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2019 in Harrison, Arkansas. She was born December 6, 1935, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Milton Anthony and Ruby Mae (Mayo) DeBusk. Her departure has left an absence for those who knew her. Her memory shall remain with those who love and cherished her.

Carol was a devout Jehovah’s Witness from her early twenties and until her death. She was previously an active member at the Victor Street Mission in St. Louis, Missouri. She was an avid roller skater, enjoyed sewing, needlework, and reading.

Carol leaves behind five children, Peggy Pentkowski (Scott) of Yellville, Arkansas, Anna Funston of Ward, Arkansas, Jill Bessett (Phil) of Panama City Beach, Florida, Alice Jo Emmert (Grant) of Everton, Arkansas, and Oak Paul Funston (Susan) of Clinton, Arkansas; one brother, Michael DeBusk, of Imperial, Missouri; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Jerry and Dale DeBusk; one sister, Leslie Jerls; and her son, Jacob Funston.

Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall in Clinton, with Bro. Lee Wadell officiating.

The family wishes to thank Legacy Hospice and Mt. Vista Nursing Center for their care.

Arrangements are by Roller-Christeson Funeral Home in Harrison, Arkansas.
